One of India's prominent chess grandmasters, Pentala Harikrishna, was born in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, on May 10, 1986. Harikrishna exhibited exceptional skill and intelligence from a young age. While fostering his growing passion for chess, he finished his education in Guntur before continuing his studies at V. S. R. and N. V. R. College in Tenali.


He displayed exceptional talent in chess from a very young age and started competing in events when he was five. He learned to play chess from his grandfather, who played a pivotal role in enhancing his skills during his early days. His initial mentor, Ramaraju, significantly contributed to his rapid skill development. At just nine years old, he started participating in national tournaments, and shortly after, chess evolved from a hobby into his professional career.


At present, Pentala Harikrishna lives in Prague, Czech Republic, with his Serbian spouse, Nadezda Stojanovic, who is a Spanish chess player and an author. He continues to compete for India in international tournaments and engages in various leagues throughout Europe and Asia for chess clubs around the globe.


Alongside his competitive activities, he is dedicated to teaching and encouraging young players through training sessions, online competitions, and commentary.Pentala Harikrishna's path from a young chess lover in Guntur to a worldrenowned grandmaster highlights his commitment, intelligence, and calm personality.
